Goverment of India, codified 29 existing labour laws into 4 new codes. The codes deal with minimum wages, occupational safety and health conditions, social security benefits , working hours, formation of trade unions and industrial relations. The President of India has given assent to all four codes but the implementation date is yet to be announced by central government.

The OSHW,2020 is an act to regulate the occupational safety, health and working conditions and related concerns of employees in an establishment. Till date 23 states/ UTs have published the draft for the respective code.
The IR,2020 is amends the laws relating to trade unions, conditions of employment in an organisation and investigation and settlement of industrial dispute. Till date 25 states/ UTs have published the respective draft.
